THE MAKING OF ENGINEERED WOOD

Trees are planted and in about ten years a sustainable forest has grown which we have our engineered wood panels from.
Our engineered wood (MDP) enables MADESA to use the entire tree, including the branches, while solid wood only uses the trunk.
While engineered wood has the same look and feel as solid wood,
it weighs 20% less. This makes transportations approximately 5% more efficient, which reduces CO2 emissions.
Furthermore, engineered wood decreases wood consumption by more than 60% compared to solid wood worktops.

Madesa is Carbon Free certificated, which means that the company neutralizes the emission of greenhouse gases.

Madesa is Carb Phase 2 compliant, which means the company respects the limit of formaldehyde emissions from composite wood products.
